TV Commercials prepared to use in bidding for the  J. C. Penny account when they were between agencies.

The "You Gotta Have Pockets" Campaign

We will produce a series of humorous TV commercials with corresponding print ads. We have carefully included the product itself as integral to the joke. This is important to brand recall. We want them to remember your product as well as the commercial.

For your convenience we have arranged the TV spots into 7 categories:

Sketches, Action,
Quickies,
Artsy,
Youth,
Lifestyle and
Celebrity Endorsement.

Category 1 - Sketches

These are sketch comedy, requiring actors to speak a few lines.

TV Spot - No Time for Pockets

Law & Order cops (or types) stop a car. A young man steps out. The younger cop orders him to turn around and spread for a search. After patting down the young man's shirt, he starts to move down to his pants.

The older cop shouts, "Hey! Wait a minute, are those Arizona Jean Company?" The young man says, "Yeah." "Quad Pocket?" At this point, the young man smiles knowingly, "Yeah."

The older cop says, "Forget it Jimmy, we haven't got all night." Jimmy nods and they return to their unit and drive off. The young man assumes a relaxed, confident pose, leaning on his car. He put on his shades, shrugs his shoulders, addresses the camera saying:

"You gotta have pockets."

A "rocker" type guy is bopping down a busy city street to a heavy rock background. He is wearing the Quad Pocket Pants, a vest on his bare chest, a tattoo on his forearm, a nose ring and a shaggy blond wig. Using a cell phone, he is talking to a punk looking girl seated at an outdoor table.

He says, "I've never been on a blind date with a famous rock star." She says (in British accent) "Well I've heard a lot about you Bob. My friend says you're a really cute and normal guy. Not like those awful rockers I usually end up with. I think if I have to kiss another guy with a nose ring I'll die...... I hope you're almost here, I'm getting really hungry." The camera angle reveals that Bob is actually approaching her from behind.

He stops to take off his wig and fake nose ring, putting them in his pocket. From another pocket he pulls out a long sleeve pullover to wear under his vest. He also pulls out a pair of dark rimmed glasses, a box of candy and a bunch of flowers. He arrives and she is visibly thrilled with both him and his gifts.

Turning to another gentleman, our ruffian mumbles, "Sergeant, here's a little something for the policeman's ball. You know I always like to support our local police."

He emerges from the sauna, takes off his towel and hands it to an attentive towel man. Under his towel, we see he is wearing the pants. From this campaign, you can see, we are not seeking to target a single demographic such as men, women or youth. Rather, we are aggressively attempting to dominate the single category of multi-pocketed pants.

By the time we are done with the TV spots and corresponding print ads, the world will know that ...

"You gotta have pockets."

Through the use of proven methods like humor, lifestyle modeling and celebrity endorsement we intend to make it feel quite natural to always wear your Arizona Jean Company, Quad Pocket Pants.

Please contact me to develop these ideas further and discuss production.
